In December 2014, The Veterans Site ran a story about me. I would like to give you an update. In December 2014, I was days away from a medical retirement due to service-connected injuries (90 percent VA disability). To make matters worse, I was also weeks away from being kicked out of my house due to foreclosure. I am happy to report I am doing better medically and financially. I still have a long way to recover from nerve damage, acephalgic migraines with persistent visual and audio disturbances, and major damage to my neck and back. Financially? Many readers from The Veterans Site suggested I request a modified mortgage and ask the VA for help. Right after I received those suggestions, I requested a modified mortgage and the VA helped with the paperwork. What was the end result? I and my family of four still live in our home. In addition, many readers supported my writing career by visiting my Amazon page which kept hope alive for me after all. Since I retired, I have written two additional books with the aid of voice recognition software. I honestly feel I would have lost my home, my writing career, and maybe my family if it was not for The Veterans Site and its readers.
