When I heard the words 2 inches and that I had a malignant tumor, I couldn't believe it! I live near Washington D.C. where 3D mammograms are available (especially for those of us who have cystic breasts. In a couple of days I was on my journey to get rid of this mass!! I have the type that only 10-15% of cancers are.
I am on my way to becoming cancer free - my surgery is 5/5/2014. I must say this quite scary--One minute I am up and the next feeling the "Poor me's".
Thank God I have only 3 more appt.'s -then surgery! Breast cancer doesn't even run in my family! My surgeon also did a fellowship in Oncology I Boston in - very experienced. I will pray for survivors and those fighting this disease right now. Think of hope and courage and please DON'T give up! Next week I will be getting the Brac 1 and 2 tests!
Don't give up and take action immediately!!!!!

By the way I found this tumor using my monthly Breast Self Exam.
This is serendipity at it's finest! My hair stylist survived a double mastectomy and she frequently reminds me of the precautions we must take to not get this disease!
